St Louis has already hit a record number of homicides for the year

The 195th homicide in St. Louis eclipses the number of murders for all of 2019.

A woman was shot and killed Thursday night in the city’s Benton Park West neighborhood.

Police responded about 9:15 p.m. to a report of a shooting. There they found a 24-year-old woman shot in the head, not conscious or breathing.

The shooting marks the 195th homicide of the year in St. Louis, surpassing the city’s total for all of 2019.
