Joplin ranked high for business climate, cost of living

Business Facilities annually rates the country’s top sites of innovation and business. In their 16th Annual Rankings Report, Joplin, Missouri was ranked among the best business climates and lowest costs of living in the United States.

Among the nation’s smaller metropolitan areas, Joplin was number eight nationally for the Best Business Climate rankings. With a growing focus on innovation and business, the entrepreneurial ecosystem is expanding rapidly.

Joplin was also highlighted as having one of the country’s lowest costs of living, landing in sixth place, behind Richmond, Indiana and Memphis, Tennessee. This is a big advantage for the quality of life in Joplin and for its thriving business scene.

“Our cost of living is 21% below the national average,” says Toby Teeter, President and CEO of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. “Leveraging this with our infrastructure and our work ethic makes our community appealing to companies from all around the world.”
