SWAT activity in South Joplin Thursday evening

Action in south Joplin when Joplin Police Department SWAT did a contain and call out.

Captain William Davis of the Joplin Police Department tells News talk KZRG that the Initial call was about Child abuse. Officers conducted investigation and Id’d and unidentified adult male inside and found out he had an active warrant.

Based on circumstances and nature of the warrant, SWAT was activated.

Shortly after arriving on scene the suspect surrendered to police peacefully and was taken into custody. Detectives are on scene continuing their investigation. We will bring you more details as soon as they become available.
