Walmart+, could it be Wal-mart’s answer to Prime?
Wal-Mart wants to compete with Amazon Prime, so they’ve started their own membership service called Wal-mart+.
Launched in 2005, Prime has more than 150 million members worldwide who pay $119 a year, or $12.99 a month
But, Wal-Mart Executives say they’re not launching Wal-Mart+ compete with another service, but only to meet the needs of their customers.
Wal-Mart+ gives members same-day delivery on 160,000 items and a fuel discount at certain gas stations. Another Wal-mart bonus that isn’t available with Prime, members can unlock an app to scan items as they shop at their local store, and pay without having to stop at a cashier. So how much is skipping that line worth?
Wal-mart+ will cost $98 a year, or $12.95 a month. It launches September, 15th nationwide
