Names released in Saturday morning accident on I-44

On August 22nd, 2020 at 07:08 am the Joplin Police Department responded to the westbound 2.8
mile marker on I-44 for a report of crash involving a pickup truck and a semi tractor trailer.

The initial investigation showed a westbound semi tractor trailer collided with a westbound pickup
truck at this location.

The name of the deceased passenger in the pickup was identified as Sharifa Taylor, age 42 of
Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The driver of the pickup was Cedric Holt, age 46 of Tulsa. He was transported to a local hospital.

The name of a reported child passenger in the pickup was not released.

The driver of the semi tractor trailer was Patrick Hickey, age 50 of Ardmore. He was not injured in the accident.

The crash still remains under investigation by the Joplin Police Department’s Major Crash Team.
