Scammers try to scam Carthage police

Scammers are at it again. This time, they tried to scam the police!

It happened recently in Carthage when the Police Department received a bill from scammers for website services that were never purchased.

“You know, it’s super-ironic or a scammer to go ahead and target a police department,” states Stephanie Garland of the Better Business Bureau.

“We want consumers to know if they’re trying to scam police officers, they’re definitely going to try to scam you next,” Garland adds.

Garland says the Carthage Police recognized the bill’s bogus nature and lost no money.
