Springfield police seize pound of heroin in bust

Police in Springfield, Missouri, have seized more than a pound heroin during a drug bust.

Springfield police said Monday that officers were serving a search warrant on Aug. 6 when they seized 1.24 pounds of the illegal drug, with an estimated street value of about $85,000.

Police and the FBI continue to investigate and no further details were released.

A news release says Springfield’s Special Investigations Section has taken nearly five pounds of heroin off the streets in 2020.
