A virtual Job Fair Aug. 5th
Two thousand job seekers and more than 150 employers took part in a virtual job fair on July 22 – run by the state Workforce Department.
There is another one this Wednesday- AUG 5th- with even more participation, says state Workforce Development Director Mardy Leathers.
The Department was given $13.9 million in the CARES Act to help Missourians unemployed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Plus, 24 out of 27 job centers are open this week- to help Missourians find employment in a tough economy as well. But, the number of open centers often changes because of Covid-19 cases springing up
And, some job centers around Missouri are trying to connect unemployed people with new jobs– often through appointment only, via phone calls — and even drive-through job fairs.
