City, state working to expand broadband capacity
Broadband access: It’s something that has become increasingly important – now that more virtual meetings and computer classes are taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
That’s according to Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce President Toby Teeter.
“There are a lot of efforts right now at the state and city level to gather resources to expand broadband capacity in our region,” Teeter stated.
Currently, almost 20 percent of Missourians – more than 1.2 million citizens – do not have access to high-speed internet, especially those in suburban and rural areas.
