Missouri’s health director says COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the state are trending up.
State Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Director Dr. Randall Williams said Wednesday afternoon that Missouri had over 37,000 confirmed coronavirus cases. That was up about four-thousand from Monday’s number.
Dr. Williams is urging young people who congregate in places like pools and lakes to wear a mask and to wash their hands frequently
Positive cases have increased by about 16-hundred just in the past 24 hours:
Over the past week, there have been an average of 1,047 new cases per day. That’s an increase of 74 percent from the average two weeks ago.
As of this (Friday) morning, there have been at least 39,923 cases and 1,212 deaths in Missouri since the beginning of the pandemic.
