Kansas Rep. Steve Watkins charged with voter fraud
Kansas 2nd Congressional District representative Steve Watkins has been charged with voter fraud stemming from a 2019 election.
Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay announced Tuesday he has charged Watkins with four counts:
- Interference with law enforcement by providing false information, felony;
- Voting without being qualified, felony;
- Unlawful advance voting, felony;
- And failing to notify the DMV of change of address, misdemeanor.
It is related to when Watkins used a UPS store address on his registration. He later said that was a mistake, using that address for his campaign. He later changed it. The investigation had been delayed due to the pandemic
