Man walking on Highway 171, hit, killed

A semi-truck – pedestrian accident has taken the life of a man from Colorado.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 71-year-old Kenneth D. Anders of Akron, Colorado died after he was hit just before 4 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 171, about 3 miles north of Carl Junction.

The Patrol says Anders was in the roadway when he was hit by the semi driven by 31-year old Matthew Hooten of Heber Springs, Arkansas.
