Face masks not enforced by Cherokee County Kansas

Cherokee County Kansas will not make you wear a face mask. Read the full press release below:

Following this morning’s meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners, the wearing of masks as mandated in Governor Kelly’s Executive Order 20-52, is no longer required in Cherokee County.

However, it is strongly encouraged all residents continue to take measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by ensuring proper social distancing, limit the time spent in close spaces with others, regularly and thoroughly washing hands with soap and water, voluntarily wearing a mask when out in public, regularly disinfecting commonly touched surfaces and not going to work if you are feeling ill. In addition, it’s important to remember some businesses may continue to require the wearing of masks for their employees or customers. Please honor those requests.

If we all do our part, whether mandated or not, but because we want to help keep our friends and neighbors healthy, we can keep the number of people who contract COVID-19 down!
