Carthage City Council to meet Wednesday on COVID-19
The Carthage City Council plans to meet at 2 p.m. tomorrow to consider what they will do to respond to the COVID-19 cases in the city.
Items on the agenda include considering restricting park gatherings to groups of 10 or less; moving Carthage back to the phase one of Gov. Parson’s recovery plan and possibly making masks mandatory in areas where six feet of social distancing can’t be maintained.
The Jasper County Health Department has said that COVID-19 cases in Jasper County appeared to be clustered in and around Carthage.
As of Monday, the county had amassed a total of 532 cases of the virus.
