A shooting in Joplin

What was reported as a motorcycle crash turns out to be a shooting!

It happened around 9pm Thursday night along I-44 near mile Marker 1. Joplin Police received a call of a single vehicle accident. Once on scene emergency crews went to work. On the way to the hospital, ambulance crews noticed the gunshot wound.

The driver is unresponsive and is in critical condition at a local hospital. The location of the crime, on I-44 or on the frontage road, is unclear.
