Joplin Area Chamber Board refuses to retract open letter

The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Board staff and Board of Directors have decided to stand beside Chamber president Toby Teeter, refusing to retract an open letter he put out last week that acknowledged structural racism in Joplin.

While many applauded the letter, some believed Teeter was being critical of past Chamber leadership and members.

A Chamber letter issued today said the group supports equity,diversity and inclusion.
