KBI tentatively identifies body recovered in river
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) has tentatively identified a woman whose body was recovered from a river in southern Kansas on June 7th.
Pending DNA confirmation, authorities have identified the victim as 27-year-old Shalan Niccole Gannon, of Wichita.
Authorities say the body was badly decomposed when it was was pulled from the Ninnescah River in southern Kansas. Gannon, who was reported missing April 11, is believed to be a homicide victim.
A fisherman discovered the body. No other information was released, including how she died. The KBI said the investigation was ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward.
