Virtual story times announced by JPL Children’s Department

The Joplin Public Library’s Children’s Department is excited to host its first virtual story time series!

The Children’s Department staff will present weekly story times, via YouTube, on some of our favorite story time themes, including libraries, animals, and nature. Each story time will include 2-3 books, songs, rhymes, and movement-based activities!

The story times will be released each Tuesday morning at 10 A.M. on JPL’s Facebook page and www.joplinpubliclibrary.org/kids/ and will be available through the following Monday. The first story time video will be released Tuesday, June 2nd. Keep an eye on the library’s Facebook page for more information.

By continuing to provide weekly story times, the library hopes to contribute to the positive development of early literacy skills and school readiness. Although these story times will look a bit different, library officials say they hope to contribute to family routines and provide a sense of normalcy for our story time families.
