Missouri man spits blood in the face of a Doctor.
A man from Missouri man was arrested on Memorial Day after allegedly spitting blood on a Florida Hospital physician who was prepping him for stitches.
Daniel Raider, 38, of Springfield, Missouri, was arrested Monday, charged with battery on an emergency medical care provider and booked into the Escambia County Jail with a $2,500 bond.
According to his arrest report, an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a battery complaint at West Florida Hospital around 5 a.m. Monday morning.
A doctor advised the deputy that he wished to pursue charges against a patient.
The physician explained that he had been assigned Raider’s case that morning and prepped Raider for facial sutures.
Raider turned, faced the doctor and “spat blood in the (doctor’s) face and on his clothing,” the report stated.
The doctor left the room, proceeded to contact law enforcement and refused EMS assistance.
County records indicated that Raider remained in custody as of Tuesday.
