Help for meat processing plants in the Missouri State Budget
The 35-billion dollar state operating budget was approved Friday The Legislature agreed to add 20-million dollars for Missouri meat processing facilities, impacted by COVID-19.
House Budget Committee Chairman Cody Smith thanks colleagues on the other side of the Capitol, for the funding.
Smith also said that the 20-million funding would help plants with less than two hundred employees. And, should be used for support, workforce assistance, equipment and capital improvements.
The bipartisan funding is aimed at helping the plants address supply chain disruptions and to mitigate health and environmental impacts, as a result of the pandemic.
The Governor has yet top sign the new budget.
