Shooting death in Springfield

A 19-year-old man has been shot and killed in Springfield. The shooting happened early this morning, inside a home near Lafayette Park.

In the initial call to 911 it was reported that there was a drive-by shooting. However, investigators said that after  questioning of the victims’ three roommates, the story changed. The questioning revealed that the shooting was accidental.

The victim was shot in the stomach. He died on the way to the hospital.
