Missouri on track for May 4 reopening
Missouri’s statewide stay-at-home order ends Sunday May 3rd at 11:59 PM. Many are ancy to get the state up and running again.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson was asked whether or not there would be any limitations to the reopening.
“We’re working on the policy and the guidelines for that, but I will tell you almost every business in the state of Missouri will be able to open their doors,” said Parson. “People will go back to work. There’ll be some guidelines we’ll have with that but the majority of them will be open.”
The governor says the state is reporting 6,137 cases of the virus with 208 deaths.
Joplin Health Department director Dan Pekarek says the city’s seven COVID-19 cases have recovered. But city officials are urging citizens to maintain CDC social distancing guidelines so that there are no setbacks in reopening the state May 4th.
