Food banks are here to help
The Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri helps more than a hundred thousand people a month during normal times. — And more during this pandemic.
Lindsay Young Lopez with a food bank in Columbia Missouri says the food bank says there are changes at their main pantry
Young Lopez says, “Instead of the inside shopping model we typically use, we’ve made it all outdoor, a drive-thru model. So it works pretty well as far as social distancing”
Lindsey also says, if you need help, don’t be afraid to reach out. She says the people that make a food bank their mission are there to help no matter what.
The USDA promises money soon to help local food banks during the coronavirus pandemic.
