Disappointment over the PPP lack of funding

The federal government’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to help small businesses in crisis went broke in less than two weeks. West-central Missouri Republican Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler says putting more funding into the program is critical.

“I’m very disappointed that we’ve run out of the money and that both the leadership in the House and Senate blocked efforts a week ago to try to infuse more funding into this program,” says Hartzler.

Discussions continue to see if an agreement can be reached to add additional funding to the program. President Trump said at a news briefing yesterday that there have been “very good negotiations” with Democrats on expanding funding. The president continued saying that the PPP, could have an agreement as soon as today. The $350 billion fund for small businesses and contractors was depleted last Thursday.
