Drugs seized, one man taken into custody in Cherokee County
Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office have executed a second search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into the January burglary of multiple storage units in Riverton.
Detectives served the warrant at 2107 East North 10th in rural Baxter Springs late Friday night.
While conducting the search, in addition to locating and recovering stolen property, authorities seized suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Although not at the scene during the time of the search warrant, 65 year-old Charles E. Miller III was later located and taken into custody.
He is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of Possessing Stolen Property, Cocaine, Meth and Drug Paraphernalia.
Miller is the third suspect arrested in connection with the case after Cherokee County Sheriff’s Detectives executed a search warrant at 7227 Catbird Lane in Lowell on Thursday, April 16th, where Tammy Hamm and Robert Ferguson were arrested on a variety of charges related to possessing stolen property and drug possession.
As the investigation continues, additional arrests are anticipated.
