Missouri Southern, students receiving money from CARES Act

Missouri Southern State University is among those getting money from the Federal CARES Act.

So says University president Dr. Alan Marble.

The stimulus money, nearly $5 million dollars in all, will be split between Southern’s students and the university itself.

Marble made the announcement at Friday’s City Hall briefing in Joplin.

The university has donated medical caps, masks, gowns, gauze pads, gloves and other personal protective equipment items from the university’s health care programs to Mercy Hospital and Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
