Neosho Egg Producer Donates 300,000 Eggs
Hungry residents in 28 southwest Missouri counties will soon have eggs. Neosho based Opal Foods donated more than 300,000 eggs. Ozarks Food Harvest CEO Bart Brown says fresh eggs are a frequently-requested item:
“Right now this is an especially important donation to us because food is at a premium right now. You know, there are limits at the store on how many eggs you can buy.”
Brown says the donation will provide 150,000 meals for area residents. Opal Foods has donated more than 3.6 million eggs to The Food Bank since this annual donation began in 2008!
Opal Foods is a franchisee of Eggland’s Best and produces eggs in Missouri, Colorado and Iowa. The company, headquartered in Neosho, employs over 300 people.
