Republic Services temporary closes Galena Transfer Station
Separate facility, Jordan Disposal, remains open
One of Galena’s two disposal facilities is temporarily unavailable for use, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Republic Services made the following comments in a news release:
“At Republic Services, the health and safety of our employees, customers and communities are a top priority,” the release said. “We recognize the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is evolving rapidly, and we are continuously evaluating the situation to ensure we can continue to provide superior service and support to our customers.
“To minimize the risk of exposure to our employees and our customers, we have made the decision to temporarily close our Transfer Station in Galena for residential drop-offs as of April 7th. We plan to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so and “stay at home” rules are lifted.”
Jordan Disposal in Galena remains open for business.
