Joplin Issues Stay-At-Home Order
The City of Joplin will be under a stay-at-home order, effective at midnight Monday morning. That means you should only be leaving your house if you’re an essential employee, or you are picking up essential goods like food, and medication. You’re encouraged to go outside to exercise, as long as you’re practicing social distancing, and not gathering in groups of more than 10 people.
Restaurants will still be open for delivery and curbside pick-up.
This is NOT martial law.
Joplin Police Chief Sloan Rowland says they won’t be pulling you over, conducting check points, or checking for paperwork to see if you’re an essential employee. Their role is to break up groups of people.
