Shoplifting leads to stabbing and an innocent man clinging to life

A Good Samaritan was stabbed confronting a shoplifter in Joplin Sunday night.

That happened around 8 p.m at the Dave’s Mini-Mart at 8th and Maiden Lane when the suspect picked up several items and walked out. The Good Samaritan confronted the thief he was stabbed in the stomach, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Joplin Police arrested the suspect a short time later.
