Details Released In Machete Attack

A man from Stark City was attacked in his home by a man with a machete. Newton County Sheriff Chris Jennings tells News Talk KZRG 36-year-old Cody Bowman of Granby was then shot numerous times by the victim inside the house at 25384 Norway Road.

The victim, 23-year-old Joseph Ward is being treated for his injuries.

Bowman is being treated at a Joplin hospital. Once he is released, he’ll be transported to the Newton County Jail. Bowman has been charged with with first degree assault, first degree burglary, and two counts armed criminal action.

Deputies are still investigating the motive.
