Gov. Stitt Under Fire Over Twitter Photo
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is catching flack after tweeting a picture of himself and two of his kids at a busy restaurant over the weekend as health officials ask people to avoid crowds to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus.
He’s since deleted the tweet. His spokesman, Charlie Hannema, says the governor has not changed position on the instructions he previously gave to Oklahoma residents, which includes following health precautions and protecting the elderly and vulnerable, but also remaining calm while living our lives and supporting local businesses.
“The governor will continue to take his family out to dinner and to the grocery store without living in fear and encourages Oklahomans to do the same.”
Seven people have tested positive for Coronavirus in Oklahoma. Those numbers do not include two players with the Utah Jazz basketball team who tested positive in Oklahoma last week before returning to Utah.
