Coronavirus closings creates backlog in blood donations

Calling off events …. is creating a serious ripple effect in the world of healthcare.

One consequence of coronavirus postponements and cancellations is a backlog in getting blood for area hospitals. That’s according to Chris Pilgrim of the Community Blood Center.

“[There have been] over a dozen drives that have been cancelled in the 40-county region of the Ozarks,” Pilgrim says.

He encourages giving in person at the CBC office at the Northpark Mall in Joplin.
