Retailers adjust hours due to COVID-19 concerns
The coronavirus is leading retailers to make changes in their hours of operation.
Walmart Stores and Neighborhood Markets will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., nationwide except for stores already open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Walmart announcement was made in a communication to employees by Dacona Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Also, Food4Less, at 2800 E. 32nd Street in Joplin, is no longer open 24 hours.
As of Monday, March 16, the store will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The move is being made to help associates stock products and clean and sanitize the stores.
A circular at the Food 4 Less includes the statement, “We will evaluate this on a daily basis and get back to normal hours as soon as we can.”
