Tesla Factory In Joplin?
A Tesla factory in Joplin?! The Chamber of Commerce is making a pitch to score a huge economic win after CEO Elon Musk tweeted that he’s scouting locations to build the new Cybertruck, which he says will be in the central US.
Chamber President Toby Teeter replied that he’s “authorized to give 100 acres in the business park at I-44 and I-49… Plus $50+ million in incentives.”
👋 Joplin Chamber President here. I’m authorized to give you 100 acres in biz park at crossroads of I-44 and I-49 at the center of the USA, the historic home of battery tech, with four of the largest trucking companies in the world near here. Plus $50+ million in incentives.

Unfortunately, there’s already a short list of contenders, and Nashville, Tennessee, appears to be at the top of the list for the new plant. Telsa is reportedly already holding talks with officials in Nashville about a possible location.
Musk is hoping to start building the futuristic truck next year.
