Freeman Introducing Program For Blood Recipients To Thank Donors

Have you ever been the recipient of a life saving blood transfusion and wanted to say thanks? Maybe you’ve donated blood and were curious who received it? Freeman Health System has introduced a new program that will allow patients to connect with and thank blood donors, if they so choose.

Freeman is teaming up with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks by attaching a green heart tag to each pint of blood. A recipient or family member can use a smart phone, tablet or computer to visit ThankTheDonor.org and find step-by-step instructions on how to send a message of thanks to the donor. The donor then receives an email with the thank-you message attached.

Freeman is hosting a blood drive from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Thursday, March 19, at Freeman Hospital West, conference rooms 2W and 4W. Donors will get a free retro cassette “On Repeat” T-shirt.
