Man from Nevada in custody following alleged shooting

Vernon County deputies have taken a man from Nevada into custody in connection with a shooting.

One person was transported to a Joplin hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg Friday night after an incident on East Stockade Road.

Detectives found the suspect in a vehicle at Cash N’ Dash in Nevada and took him into custody without incident. Sgt. Detective Nick Norval said the victim and the suspect were believed to be in a disagreement over property the suspect purchased from the victim.

25 year-old Lonnie L. Nall Jr. has been charged with first degree or attempted assault, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs and unlawful use of weapon.

He is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $200,000 cash only bond.
