A 17-year-old from Carthage is now facing several charges after two people were seriously injured in a crash on Fir Road Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened about three miles northwest of Joplin when a car driven by Anthony Dobia-Castillo crossed the center line and hit an SUV driven by 38-year-old Jillean Mulkey of Carl Junction. Mulkey and Castillo’s passenger, 18-year-old Joshua Boles of Webb City, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Castillo is facing DWI, 2nd-degree assault, possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, driver license registration violation, no seat belt and no insurance charges.
