Governor Parson Says 2020 Will Be Last Year Running For Office
Governor Parson says this year will be the last time he runs for office. Tuesday was the first day of filing for candidates running in the August primary election. Parson told reporters at the Secretary of State’s office that he tends to live by the term “Never say never” but the first lady might say never.
“I don’t see that in my future. I’ve been very blessed to have the career I’ve had, you know. I’ve been around long enough to say ‘Never say never, but I’d say the first lady might say never.”
State Representative Jim Neely, a Republican from northwest Missouri’s Cameron, and State Auditor Nicole Galloway, a Democrat, also filed to run for governor.
