Bloomberg campaign stops in Joplin Sunday
The official campaign bus for the Mike Bloomberg for President campaign came to Joplin Sunday afternoon
Greg Fischer, mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, spoke on Bloomberg’s behalf to a crowd gathered at the Minnie Hackney Center at 110 Main Street.
Fischer touted the Democrat’s experience as the former mayor of New York which, he said, if it were its own nation would be the tenth-largest in the world.
Although Missouri is not one of the Super Tuesday states Bloomberg hopes to win or make a sizable showing in in early March, Fischer hinted Bloomberg might be attractive to some Republicans, as well as Democrats.
“People will be able to have a contrast between President Trump and hopefully Mike Bloomberg and be able to make their choice from there,” Fischer said.
“I can tell you a lot of Republicans say they don’t want to vote for Donald Trump again but they’re not going to vote for a far left Democrat but they will vote for Mike Bloomberg.”
