Long Asks Pelosi To Auction Ripped SOTU For Charity; “NO”

You saw the now infamous scene at President Trump’s State of the Union this week where Nancy Pelosi ripped her copy of the speech in half. Congressman Billy Long joined us on the KZRG Morning News Watch to say he asked Pelosi right afterwards if he could auction it off for charity…

“That speech is worth thousands of dollars. I go around the side door, go in because I figured she had just laid it on the podium, but instead of that she’s standing there holding it up like a ten pound bass showing it to people up in the Gallery. She was so proud she ripped up this speech. And I said, ‘Nancy we need to auction that for charity. Let me auction that.’ She said ‘No, I wanna keep it for posterity.’… I turn on the TV when I got back to my apartment… and Sean Hannity said he would have paid $25,000 for that speech.”

President Trump signed Congressman Long’s tie at the event, which will be auctioned off for charity. Last year his autographed tie brought in $15,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
