Grants awarded to over 100 law enforcement agencies

The Missouri Department of Public Safety awarding over $700,000 worth of grants to buy equipment to protect officers and increase public safety across the state.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office will be able to buy 38 trauma kits, one for each deputy. These trauma kits have a tourniquet, blood clotting agent, and a pressure bandage to be used to stop bleeding from a stab or gunshot wound.

Both the Barry and Vernon County Sheriff’s offices getting thousands of dollars to purchase ballistic/bulletproof vests.
