Aurora Moving To Four-Day School Week
The Aurora School District will be going to a four-day school week next school year. The school board made that decision at their meeting on Monday. Students will attend class Monday through Thursday.
Superintendent Billy Redus says teachers will work an extra 12 professional development days.
When the 2020/2021 school year starts in August, to make up for the shorter school week, students will be in class for an extra 40 minutes a day.
61 school districts are currently on a four-day school week. Another 25, including Aurora, will be switching over to the four-day model next school year.
