Traffic Stop Leads to Guns and Drugs; One Arrest Made
Another alleged dangerous criminal is off the streets in Vernon County.
51-year-old Richard Jackson of Harwood was busted during a traffic stop near Walker.
Deputies found meth, loaded guns, and drug paraphernalia. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher commended his deputies for their before pro-activeness before the drugs could be distributed all throughout the county.

According to Sheriff’s Office Officials, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on C Hwy near the Walker area. While investigating the traffic stop, the Deputy was able to locate suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and two loaded firearms. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said it was the proactiveness of the Deputy that led to the seizure. “He was able to seize methamphetamine that was likely going to be distributed throughout our county.” The suspect has been identified as 51-year-old Richard K. Jackson, of Harwood. On Saturday morning, a warrant was issued by the Courts charging Jackson with:
Trafficking Drugs-2nd Degree
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
Unlawful Use of Weapon
Jackson is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.
