“Vote Yes” group kicks off campaign for school bond approval
The “Vote Yes: Our Kids, Our Community” Committee kicked off its campaign for the April 7 school bond election at a downtown news conference Tuesday morning.
Vote Yes Co-Chair Kelli Perigo says the new school will meet a vital need.
“West Central and Columbia, are almost 100 years old schools,” she states. “They have smaller classroom sizes and are overcrowded.
“So, building the school and allowing for the addition at Kelsey Norman definitely is a ‘Win-Win’ for our community,” Perigo says.
The election extends the current tax levy for 20 years but does not increase it.
A new elementary school on Dover Hill would replace the aging West Central and Columbia.
An addition would be added at Kelsey Norman.
