“Homeless Connect” event Thursday at Joplin’s Memorial Hall
Homeless people: They are all around us, often living in the shadows, sometimes sleeping in cars or any of several homeless camps in Jasper County.
The Jasper and Newton County Homeless Coalition’s “Homeless Connnect” event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Joplin’s Memorial Hall. Homeless Coalition Chair Robin Smith says several resources will be represented as the group helps people make connections with healthcare and other resources.
“Missouri Job Center will be there. A temporary employment agency will be coming. Several Veterans organizations will be there and housing organizations to help people get housed.”
Throughout this half day-event, The Homeless Coalition wants to ensure that people experiencing homelessness will be able to connect with members of the community.
Anyone knowing of someone who is currently homeless should refer that person to this one-time community resources event.
