Get a look at bison at Prairie State Park hike
Bison: In pioneer times, there were millions of them in North America. Buy early in the 20th century, they were nearly extinct. But now there back and one place to see then is Prairie State Park.
Join staff for a guided hike at Saturday, Feb. 1, to see what the prairie has to offer this time of year.
Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain.
Bring water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen. Dress for the weather as the winds can be strong this time of year, and wear sturdy shoes. Binoculars will be useful for looking at bison as well as other wildlife that may be out and about. Registration is required and limited to 50 people.
Prairie State Park is located at 128 NW 150th Lane, Mindenmines in southwest Missouri. Please call 417-843-6711 to register for the hike.
