Over 1,100 applications were submitted to the state from companies interested in selling medical marijuana inside highly-secured retail sites.
Of those applicants, only 192 got licenses, including 4 in Joplin.

- Astro Farms Gamma LLC, at Hwy 171 & Fir Road
- Grassroots OpCo MO, LLC, at 1729 E. 7th Street
- Missouri Made Marijuana, LLC, at 7110 W. 20th Street
One in Neosho (Harmony Neosho at 890 Harmony Street), one in Carthage (SMO4 at 429 Peachtree Lane), and one in Cassville (The Dispensary LLC at 460 State Highway 76) were also approved.
One noteworthy denial in Joplin was Suzanne’s Natural Foods application of Quartered Oak Enterprise at 3016 Connecticut Avenue.
A 2018 ballot measure passed by Missouri voters allows 24 licensed dispensary locations in each of the state’s eight congressional districts.
The state says the dispensaries chosen are the top-scoring ones meeting all eligibility requirements.
