Semi Winds Up In Ditch Trying To Pass Cars
Highway 171 between Highway 96 and M will be closed for about an hour beginning at 8:30 this morning (1/15).
Newstalk KZRG was on the scene, who exclusively spoke to the Highway Patrol on the scene who said a tractor trailer speeding along the highway tried to pass a couple of cars at a blind curve around 5:45 a.m between Waco and Asbury that was northbound, heading towards Pittsburg. There was a car in the southbound lane that had to run off the right side of the road. The tractor trailer went across the road and into the ditch. No one was injured.
Highway 171 will close while two wreckers pull the truck from the ditch.
Highway 171 between Waco and Asbury. Tractor trailer was heading north and tried to pass car. Unfortunately, there was a car in the southbound lane!!! That car went off the right side of the road, through the ditch, into the field and continued until it came to rest about 100 yards down the road. The Tractor trailer will need to be pulled from this ditch with two wreckers and this part of 171 will be closed for a while from 171 and 96 to 171 route M starting at approximately 830 this morning.
