MoDOT Preparing For Winter Storm
All eyes are on the weather Friday as a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 6 o’clock this evening. We could see between 2 and 3 inches of snow accumulate, plus a thin sheet of ice causing all sorts of headaches across the Four States. MoDOT’s Richard Starchman tells News Talk KZRG they will be busy treating the roads.
“We have 18 trucks that we’re running in the Joplin area. We’re working 24 hours a day to make sure to get the roads cleared for everybody, please give us room, if you see us out there. And if you don’t have to be out there, please don’t.”
In addition, we’re under a flash flood watch until Saturday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will begin after 11 a.m, with some producing heavy rain. Which could quickly affect those in low lying areas. Remember, turn around, don’t drown.
